This was taken from the hotel balcony at Shimla. It overlooked the entire valley and was a wonderful sight.

I just fell in love with that place and from that point of time Shimla became my favorite place on earth

So now i am gonna be uploading the pics of my Himachal Pradesh visit of 2008. As i am gradually sorting them out .

These pics are taken in Manali on the way to the temple of Manu.
I noticed a very strange thing there
all houses in that area were made up of stones. No use of cement or anything but just stones which were piled on upon another

SPEED

Highways have always been my favorite  and will always be. I just love to travel by roads . Those 4 lane roads, speeding vehicles ,Honking Trucks ,roadside Dhabas  gives me the true essence of INDIA .
And i love to capture these moments in my camera.

But one must keep his eyes open while driving on these roads and MUST NOT DRINK AND DRIVE as he might face and accident like this  unlucky guy over here take a look at this pic

May the truck's soul rest in peace

Back to Puri

Puri beach at daytime

The beach during the evening
After returning back from konark to Puri the first thing i notices when i entered my hotel room was the Blue ocean and the blue sky which looks awesome as they become one in the distant horizon..

The same beach looks totally different in the evening, where the beach is crowded by stalls selling tea coffee sea shells and many more things. Its actually a market place i the evening. and the entire beach is flooded by CFL lights.

Roots

This place has some strange mysteries in it. Something that made me stare at these roots forever. Whenever i see this pic i am transported back to that place . That shadowy banyan tree.

God vs Demon Who will win?

Lion guarding the sun temple

People say that konark temple broken down at many places. At many places i even saw reconstruction process even taking place. But let me tell you  the architecture , the minute woks , the sculptures are just beautiful . 1000s of years ago people built this temple with hands only. without using any sort of machinery .
This place is simply jaw dropping .
If u haven't visited Konark do visit its worth watching

Shades from green

Shades from Green

This is taken inside the Konark sun temple complex. It was a hot day there. And the shades provided by that  banyan tree is very much soothing to the eyes, mind and body. One  might wanna sit under the tree to have some rest. The rock you see under the tree that Grey colored one? . Well according to tourist guides that's a musical rock . it one lays his/her ears on the rock they can hear music . But sadly its forbidden to do that now a  days so no one can lay his/her ears on that rock.

Waiting for the waves to take me away

Waiting for the waves to take me away
This pic is also taken on the way to konark. In the previous snap u saw the road surrounded by trees.
So while going on that road we witnessed sudden change of scenery as on one side of the road was the mighty sea and on the other side were cashew trees.
So i got outside the car and witnessed this abandoned sea beach with a boat lying on the beach.
As if the boat is communicating with the sea and asking him to take him away and loose him in the deepest of oceans.

Never ending road

Never Ending Road

This pic is taken on 11th April 2009.
I was going to Konark sun temple from puri.
The roads were amazing
All the time it was surrounded by trees with yellow leaves deposited  on the bottom which was a feast to the eyes ..

On top of that it was a bright sunny spring morning ...

Lights From heaven

Lights from heaven
I took this pic on the 10th of April 2010. And that day is my Date of birth.
I was in Puri at that time . Went there for a vacation with my family(Mom Dad Grandmother and Uncle) .
It was 5 am in the morning. I was standing beside my hotel room window which was sea facing waiting for the perfect moment .
Actually i wanted to take the pic of sunrise but when i saw the overcast sky i was disappointed . but soon i saw these rays of lights coming from the skies between those clouds which created a perfect picture.
Let me tell you guys that was a heavenly sight parts of the sea lit by the sun made it look like the sea is made up of silver and gold not water
